Setting New Benchmarks

workplace6 building has achieved a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rating and was the first building to achieve a 6 Star Green Star award for office design in NSW.

Recycled Water Factory

The onsite Recycled Water Factory provides recycled water for use in the building amenities, irrigation systems and the neighbouring community park. There are also low flow taps used within the building's basins and shower heads.

Trigeneration System

A Trigeneration System was designed to generate supplementary energy for the building, away from the grid, through the use of renewable gases. Electronic zone lighting control also assists in saving energy.

Saving Energy & Water

Sea Water and Heat Rejection plants utilise water from Sydney Harbour to provide cooling for AC systems, reducing the need for cooling towers and saving approximately 4.5 mega litres of water.

Recycling Programme

The building implements an enhanced recycling programme through multi use streams, including organics, that is monitored and weighed to track improvement.

Optimising Natural Light

Open floor plates with a central common light filled atrium optimise natural light on each level of the building, resulting in reduced lighting and energy use.

"Low-e" Facade Glazing

The facade of the building is glazed with low emissivity panels, allowing for high visibility as well as passive solar control to assist with air-conditioning efficiency.

Solar Power

workplace6 features 40 solar hot water panels on the roof that generate hot water for both the showers and hand basins, reducing the building's gas consumption.

Fresh Air

The building's air conditioning system also features an outside air system that incorporates approximately 50% more fresh air than the required amount.

Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2020

workplace6's owner, The GPT Wholesale Office Fund (GWOF), has set a target to achieve net zero carbon emissions across the portfolio by the end of 2020.
